Just a quick jot...

I want to be the first on the record to say that I think the Republican's are making a full court press for the Security Mom vote. Laura Bush last night, Zell Miller's fire and brimstone speech tonight, both seem to be running under the "Vote Bush: He'll protect your children". Watch for more from Bush tomorrow.

Well Well Well

Looks like there’s a ministorm going on in the old Blogosphere today. Andrew Sullivan is bemoaning the “smear campaign” that the Swift Vets have unleashed, and is reciting almost chapter and verse Kerry’s speaking points. Adding to his Blog is two letters to him he’s posted. One is a response to his posting of earlier, and the other a response to that letter. I’m starting to think that Sullivan is suffering from the same burnout that Den Beste is. But since his blog isn’t a labor of love, or a hobby, so he needs to respond in a different way. In his case, a bad case of Helsinki Syndrome. He even posts about Den Beste earlier in today’s writings.

On Beste’s site he posts a link from another blog from a guy who refers to Beste as a “pious dink”. Lovely.

My favorite:

“I've been at this a long time. I know what's important, and a pompous ignoramus like Den Beste doesn't qualify. He's a run-of-the-mill, rote, conservative, which means: when it comes to politics and the whole cultural and philosophical underpinning of the thing, he couldn't think his way to the nearest light-switch on the wall with the earnest intent to flip the thing on.”

A quick perusal of his site shows me my greatest fear as a blogger. He’s got a good blog, and a lot of nice little essays. But with one off the cuff remark he comes across as an idiot. I was tempted to just take one look at his post and his picture and click on my merry little way. But I found another blog to add to my readings. This is my little life lesson to you all today. Don’t run your fool mouth off about someone else’s blog until you know what the fuck you are talking about. And Never judge a Blogger by his latest writings.

Oh and yes, I tend towards being a hypocrite.

I’m going to run though this blog tonight, and reserve my opinion about the man till I’m done. Then I’ll probably post my opinion here.

Well the writers are coming back to Blogistrano

Andrew Sullivan is back from his vacation. His first post of his visit to the Cape instantly reminded me why I like reading him.
His follow up postings however makes me wonder where he's gone. There's been a lot of negative commentary about him since his leftward fall. Filled with that special venom reserved for those who have tasted salvation, then turned away from the true path.
As I see it, he hasn't really left the Republican's. The Republican's left him. The upcoming Civil war in the Republican party is starting. With the Social Conservatives attempting to further an agenda that the Moderate and Liberal Conservatives feel uncomfortable with. The Libertarian Wing of the Republicans will take umbrage with this I'm sure. I hope. With the Democrats fielding their farleft bench warmers as their primary candidates, And the Santoums coming out of the closet on the Right. It's no wonder the nation is as polarized as it is. Fact is, I'd probably be following him but the Democrats managed to pick the one person out of the field that I'd never vote for.

USS Clueless is back. And he's a broken man. The bastards finally got to him. Reminds me of one of my favorite bumberstickers.

"Never argue with an Idiot. They drag you down to their level, then beat you with experience."
