Well Well Well

Looks like there’s a ministorm going on in the old Blogosphere today. Andrew Sullivan is bemoaning the “smear campaign” that the Swift Vets have unleashed, and is reciting almost chapter and verse Kerry’s speaking points. Adding to his Blog is two letters to him he’s posted. One is a response to his posting of earlier, and the other a response to that letter. I’m starting to think that Sullivan is suffering from the same burnout that Den Beste is. But since his blog isn’t a labor of love, or a hobby, so he needs to respond in a different way. In his case, a bad case of Helsinki Syndrome. He even posts about Den Beste earlier in today’s writings.

On Beste’s site he posts a link from another blog from a guy who refers to Beste as a “pious dink”. Lovely.

My favorite:

“I've been at this a long time. I know what's important, and a pompous ignoramus like Den Beste doesn't qualify. He's a run-of-the-mill, rote, conservative, which means: when it comes to politics and the whole cultural and philosophical underpinning of the thing, he couldn't think his way to the nearest light-switch on the wall with the earnest intent to flip the thing on.”

A quick perusal of his site shows me my greatest fear as a blogger. He’s got a good blog, and a lot of nice little essays. But with one off the cuff remark he comes across as an idiot. I was tempted to just take one look at his post and his picture and click on my merry little way. But I found another blog to add to my readings. This is my little life lesson to you all today. Don’t run your fool mouth off about someone else’s blog until you know what the fuck you are talking about. And Never judge a Blogger by his latest writings.

Oh and yes, I tend towards being a hypocrite.

I’m going to run though this blog tonight, and reserve my opinion about the man till I’m done. Then I’ll probably post my opinion here.
